Four great ages had already passed. The fragments of those sentient beings: the precious bones, comprised the Region of the Dead. To begin a fifth age, Quetzalcoatl would need to remove the precious bones from stasis. Accompanied only by his nagual, Quetzalcoatl entered the world of the dead.

Mictlantecuhtli, Lord of the Region of the Dead, had other ideas and wanted to prevent the removal and restoration of the precious bones. Engaging his nagual to divert Mictlantecuhtli's attention, Quetzalcoatl attempted to slip away with the precious bones. A hole was quickly dug to prevent the theft, and Quetzalcoatl fell, unconsciously scattering the precious bones.

Some time later, he awoke grief-stricken and asked his nagual: "What shall I do now?" To which his nagual replied: "Although the affair has started badly, let it continue as best it may."

The myth then goes on to describe how "Q" assembles the bones with the aid of a goddess, bleeds his genitals onto the pulverised bones and thereby begins the fifth age of sentience manifesting on earth. The blood sacrifice is noted, creating a sense of penence and indebtedness henceforth - until the Mayan year 5124, the Islamic year 1391, the Illuminati year 6012 or the Gregorian year 2012 - when all hell once again, yet unexpectantly, breaks loose...
